Flagship Practitioner Training
Our online phonics training class covers everything you need to apply the Sounds-Write approach in your classroom or teach phonics at home. Once you complete the flagship training program and pass the course, you’ll become a certified Sounds-Write Practitioner.
This six-week course is organized multiple times throughout the year and is delivered by a qualified Sounds-Write trainer. Every Sounds-Write trainer has years of phonics instruction under their belts, with backgrounds ranging from classroom teachers to speech pathologists and language experts.
Covered in the online course:
- Learn how to teach the phonemic awareness skills, concepts, and code knowledge students need to master in order to become competent readers, writers, and spellers
- Learn how to teach all the different Sounds-Write phonic activities, and have ample opportunity to practice them yourself
- Find out how to teach Sounds-Write to groups of different sizes, so you can work with the whole class, small phonics intervention groups, or one-to-one
- Learn how to teach through errors—one of the cornerstones of the Sounds-Write approach—and how to conduct formative assessment and use differentiation as an integral part of your teaching
- Understand how to use diagnostic tools to determine where new students should start the program
